Every presidential library holds a nationally significant collection of documents, artifacts and photographs. But only the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) made its collection the star of a breakthrough visitor attraction. The secret? A great story brought to life by BRC’s mystifying Holavision® show technologies. This surprise-filled special effects performance brings new meaning and magic to the science of caring for a presidential library collection.
The show takes place in a re-creation of a library archive and is hosted by a live stage actor playing the role of an ALPLM curator. As the curator describes the incredible detective work that happens in a presidential archive, the theater’s Holavision effects awaken the objects and unlock the stories they hold. A series of magical surprises reinforce the show’s key message: We study and preserve these objects because they help tell us who we are as a nation and, more importantly, who we might become.
